Richard brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality and leisure entertainment industry and supports Velocity in a variety of firmwide initiatives, including deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company value creation. He is currently the President and CEO of Cedar Fair (NYSE: FUN; $2.1 billion Mkt. Cap.), a leader in regional amusement parks, water parks and immersive entertainment in North America. During his tenure with Cedar Fair, he has accepted steadily increasing levels of responsibility since being named VP and general manager of the Kings Dominion park near Richmond, Virginia, in 1998. Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Georgetown University, where he led the formation of an active, on‐campus business fraternity. He is a former director of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Richmond Convention & Visitors Bureau. Richard also served as committee co‐chair for NOVA of Virginia Aquatics, Inc., a non‐profit offering year‐round youth swimming programs and competitive training.
